The month of September 2019 was one not soon to forget for Leadax. Besides the full commissioning of the new production facility (opening to follow), Leadax won the ING Circular Enterprise Award on Sustainable Tuesday. Sustainable Tuesday is a day when sustainable ideas and initiatives are given a stage by policymakers. A total of 522 companies across the country had registered for Sustainable Tuesday. Director Roeland van Delden accepted the award on behalf of Leadax.
The Sustainable Tuesday day started with a networking breakfast. In this way, the nominated companies could, in an approachable way, exchange knowledge with a number of Dutch MPs. The breakfast was followed by the sustainable throne speech by State Secretary Stientje van Veldhoven. Finally, a matchmaking session took place, in which companies were encouraged to look for opportunities for sustainable cooperation. The matchmaking session ended with the announcement of the prize winners.
In the end, the decisive factor for winning the prize was solving two major problems. On the one hand, replacing toxic lead on roofs and, on the other hand, using the basic raw material, recycled plastic from car windows and safety glass. In this way, we contribute to a healthier society by keeping lead out of people’s immediate working and living environment. The waste mountain of plastic film from safety glass is also reduced.
At Leadax, we are naturally very excited about these developments. The ING Circular Business Award is a prestigious award that again shows that we are doing the right things with our product. Of course, this is a good way for us to create awareness about the toxic properties of lead, with the ultimate goal, of course, of eliminating lead from the world.
